If caught early can antibiotics successfully treat Lyme disease?

If caught early can antibiotics successfully treat Lyme disease?

YES: Antibiotics are highly successful in treating early lyme disease; the earlier treatment begins after infection the better. However, many doctors give inadequate treatment, such as Doxycycline 100 mg 2x/day for 10 days. Ilads, the professional organization of lyme specialists, advises Doxycycline 200 mg 2x/day x 1 month (or similar). See http://www.Ilads.Org/lyme_disease/treatment_guidelines.Html. ...Read more

Supplements that improve immune system function also speed up recovery. ...Read more

A simple case of lyme discovered early may resolve completely , but cases that are not diagnosed early may become chronic . I have CT relatives with recurrent symptoms that respond well to different antibiotics but don't want to clear . http://www.cdc.gov/lyme/treatment/ ...Read more
