Exertional headache: The benign primary exertional headache is experienced as a sharp pain for a short duration upon exertion. See an Orofacial Pain or headache specialist to eliminate structural or vascular cause. Indomethacin (25 to 150 mg) is the most commonly used treatment for primary exertional headaches.

I have been getting major headaches and a stabbing pain in my chest around the heart area while showering, what could be the cause? I am a diabetic wi

See doctor: Since diabetic patients are at high risk in developing cardiovascular disease, you should get this checked out by your doctor especially if the chest pain is at the left side. If you only have pain while showering, this may be from your ribcage (costochrondritis)We need to know more about the character and duration of your headaches to give you any answer. It is time to see your doctor regardless

CPH: Chronic paroxysmal hemicrania is thought to be a variant of cluster headache because of similar autonomic features. If cph is suspected, it is appropriate to identify or exclude any secondary cause for the headache using blood chemistry tests and brain imaging procedures. Rec. Doc can answer: Frequent--daily to several times a week--headaches are most often muscular contraction headaches due to neck/scalp muscle tightness. But migraine headaches, the result of blood vessel changes, can be frequent as well. Frequent headaches require a doctor visit: after thorough history (questions) and exam, further tests may be recommended. Treatments, including prevention, are effective.

Find the cause: The cause of headache needs to be found and treated accordingly. It sounds like migraine but see your doctor for an evaluation or go to an acute care facility for diagnosis and treatment.

Cause of headache: The best way to tackle a headache is to figure out what's causing it in the first place - is it a migraine, from not eating breakfast this am, from skipping a dose of a medicine, from not getting enough sleep? There can be many reasons, and you can get the associated shoulder/neck pain. Make sure you check it out with your doctor and get an accurate diagnosis.
