Carefully change: Sleep 6-8 hours a day. Your body will awaken when it is rested. Regular cardio activity is best for fitness. If you want to add bulk then weights should be incorporated. There are online resources about foods with protein. If you need a personalized plan then you should meet with someone face to face.

Protein foods: Egg white is superior to all. Quinoa is excellent. Beans and lentils are excellent. Milk protein is excellent. Whole grains are good but not sufficient. Nuts are excellent. Yogurt is excellent. Of course all meat products are rich in protein. Grams in one meal should not exceed 40-50 grams. Minimize fat intake. Make sure you eat solid fruit and vegetables.

Hi pls can I know what foods to totally avoid (protein and potassium rich foods) if one has kidmey disease.

Kidney diet: Low potassium diet only if high potassium in blood. You can look this up in Google for each food. Anything with more than 250 mg per serving is considered high potassium. Some examples are potatoes tomatoes bananas, oranges, all fishes. Chicken is the meat with least potassium. Protein has to be in moderation which is all meat fish egg soybean etc

What are some high protein vegan foods, other than tofu? Would like to know the high protein, low fat ones.

What are some high protein vegan foods, other than tofu? Would like to know the high protein, low fat ones.

Beans, nuts, seeds: All beans, lentils and chickpeas are good sources of protein, as are nuts & seeds. Hemp seeds contain as much protein as any food and it is a "complete" protein rich in essential fats. Quinoa is the highest protein grain. Seitan from gluten is also high in protein. While nuts and seeds do have some fats, these are relatively healthy fats. See nutrition/protein.

Could you tell me what's the best source of protein for one who's trying to build strength?

Animal protein!: Proteins that are not plant based have proportional amino axcid composition to your body's muscle. Lean fish, poultry, and meat. Milk protein is great, as are eggs. The least expensive supplements are made of whey protein (milk). Don't pay more for "hydrolyzed" proteins (pre-digested into amino acids. The claims they work better are unsubstantiated!

Have green plant and protein powders been scientifically demonstrated to have substantial positive effects on health? What are the best ones?

Have green plant and protein powders been scientifically demonstrated to have substantial positive effects on health? What are the best ones?

No, they haven't: Green plan & protein powders are popular based on the idea of having an easy alternative to eating veggies and fruits. For optimal health, the cdc recommends 2-4 cups of veggies & fruits per day. Http://tinyurl. Com/8v8yayq green powders are not really a substitute, though -- & none of the claims of need to "alkalize" your body because of eating an "acid" diet have been proven either. See comment.

What is ideal protein intake daily for one with CKD. Help?

What is ideal protein intake daily for one with CKD. Help?

Not the key: Especially in this era of statins and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, protein restriction is not the key to preventing progression of kidney disease. Especially if it was not severe, I wouldn't pass up a nice steak to treat a lab value. It's a quality of life issue. Your physician is your best guide.

What is the best unflavored protein powder after having gastric sleeve? One example GNC whey protein.

One of the best...: Hard to say one is the very best, but I advise whey from grass fed-cows not given hormones or antibiotics processed at low temperature so the immunoglobulins ; other proteins are not denatured. My favorite is whey cool by designs for health: http://www. Rockwellnutrition. Com/p-designs-for-health-whey-cool-vanilla-organic-whey-protein also consider hemp protein powder, .

Sport's Nutrition: what's the best macro ratio? Carbs? Protein? Fat? For the purpose of building or maintain muscle mass (adding resistance training).

Sport's Nutrition: what's the best macro ratio? Carbs? Protein? Fat? For the purpose of building or maintain muscle mass (adding resistance training).

I think it depends: My brief research into this suggests it is debatable & depends somewhat on your goals: bodybuilding vs. fat loss vs. Maintenance. More carbs are needed for body building, and many fewer for fat loss. 40-60% carbs are recommended for body building, with 25-35% protein and 15-25% fat. You might target somewhere in the middle: 50% carbs, 30% protein, 20% fat. Good luck!
