I get ice pick headaches. Here a moment, gone the next. Got one today and a few moments later ended up with a migraine. Could 1 have caused the other?
See a neurologist: There are many types of headaches and many reasons for each type. You should speak to your primary care physician who can refer you to a neurologist. It would be helpful for you to keep a "headache calendar" by noting down the timing, frequency, duration, and intensity of your headaches. Is it bad if i've had a migraine for 12 hours now and counting? I've tried pain meds, darkness, sleep, and an ice pack on my head but nothing is working.

Have severe migraine that wont respond to 100mg Imitrex (sumatriptan) or 800mg motrin 6 hours later, even tried ice on neck what can do for relief?In a lot of pain.
Some guidelines: The Imitrex (sumatriptan) is not expected to be of value after headache is present for 90 minutes, and Ibuprofen is not likely to help at this stage either.
