My 11-yo son has been getting bad headaches in temples last three nights. He had minor concussion a few months ago - not sure if related. Could just be a migraine - have been alternating ibuprofen/tylenol, minor relief. What else should we do?

However, it's hard to connect these headaches now with a concussion months ago. Think about other causes of headaches- stress, low blood sugar, eye fatigue/poor vision, infections, dehydration, etc. Of course, see your pediatrician if not improving. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Every month a week before I start my menstrual I get bad migraines. I take Advil and Tylenol (acetaminophen). Neither one works. What can I do to help.
I get bad menstrual migraines. Nothing helps. A friend get relief from 2 Advil and 2 extra strength Tylenol (acetaminophen) taken together. Is this safe?
It depends: Feverfew will do nothing to help an acute migraine but if taken daily has been shown to prevent migraines. For an acute migraine Tylenol works better for some, Advil (ibuprofen) better for others, though Excedrin Migraine which combines acetaminophen, aspirin and caffeine is a good choice too. Many herbs, stress reduction and diet changes can also prevent migraines. See http://tinyurl. Com/zf6hg23 for more. ...Read more

Should be fine as: Excedrin only contains acetaminophen as the pain reliever along with aspirin, not ibuprofen. Though taking too many medications will make some things worse. Be careful and wait for the medications to take effect rather than reaching for more pills. And get some sleep if you can, which helps migraines a lot (personal experience :)) ...Read more

If this is a chronic event, you may need to be on preventive medication. ...Read more
