Achilles tendonitis is better with tylenol, (acetaminophen) motrin, or aleve?

Achilles tendonitis is better with tylenol, (acetaminophen) motrin, or aleve?

No right answer: All are pain relievers. Motrin and Aleve also reduce inflammation and are similar drugs. I believe that taking drugs like Motrin may prevent healing of a tendon injury since the body uses inflammation to help stimulate healing. Therefore, tylenol (acetaminophen) might be a better first choice, along with ice and rest followed by a physical therapy program if not improving on it's own. ...Read more

Diagnosed w/ irritant contact dermatitis 5 days ago. Given Floucinonide. Rash still spreading and very painful. Why? Can I take advil (ibuprofen) for pain?

I have a flesh colored rash across my forehead, when I take ibuprofen it hurts, the skin feels tight and it tingles so much. No pus. What could it be?

Rash: The feeling of tightness and tingling sounds like a possible contact dermatitis, however usually redness would develop. Tingling sometimes can be caused by herpes virus (herpes simplex or herpes zoster). A good first treatment would be to avoid applying makeup or other chemicals, and apply hydrocortisone 1% over the counter cream. See your doctor soon. ...Read more

See doctor: First we need to know why you are being treated with levofloxicin? Although the rash may be from the drug, the numbness is not. I recommend that you consult your doctor ASAP to be sure that you are not having a neurologic issue especially if the "infection" being treated is from a virus. Took ibuprofen now my temp is norma for 3 days now, but now facial rash&scalp also, red itchy spots on palms of hands & soles of feet. What do I do?

Allergic reaction: If the rash appeared after taking Ibuprofen and not before, then it can be an allergic reaction to it. Some people develop hives from such medications called nsaids. You may need to take an antihistamine to help you with the rash but i would avoid all nsaids, until you are evaluated by a doctor.
