Ibugesic Plus Suspension Dosage Can It Be Given To 7 Months Baby
Is it alright to give an 8mo infant tylenol (acetaminophen) syrup just once a day at nighttime for teething pain and crankiness? For how many days can it be given?
If appr acitaminophen dose is given to infant WRT age/weight then how long this treatment can safely (w/o toxic effects) cont. Is ten days too much?
Our six month old infant is teething. Baby paracetamol (calpol) provides definite relief. The insert says we can give it to him up to 4 times per day. But for how long can we do this safely? 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month?
Teething is normal: This is another name for acetaminophen and it is a mild analgesic only. It is OK to use this infrequently. Acetaminophen has its own drawbacks and that can be looked-up online. Try to let your child chew on a cold clean rag or something, it helps. This will come and go and they will get through this, and so will you!! ...Read moreSee 6 more doctor answers
My baby is 7 month and half dr give him augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) drops is okay or it should be 457 mg?
Can using an expired topical of 7 months clindamyicine be harmful? Just realized it is expired 7 months ago...
Expired medication: Like milk, drugs don't go bad as soon as clock strikes midnite on date of expiration. Depending upon type of medication, some may last for a good while longer. However, no one knows for how long, nor what potency remains at what time. So greatest harm in using expired medication is worsening of condition for which you were originally prescribed medication. But unlikely to cause new harm. ...Read more

My 14kg 2yr old has high fever and vomiting.I am using paracetamol suppositories. Is it true that only 4 doses max can be given a day for paracetamol?
Yes: Don't give more frequent than every 6 hours and only 10-15 mg /kg /dose of paracetamol, you can alternate with ibuprofen 10 mg/kg every 6 hours, meaning that every 4 hours you can give either medicine if your child is febrile. But more important in your case is to control the vomiting and correct dehydration if present, so kindly get your child seen by your doctor or go to hospital, good luck ...Read more

Can panadol (acetaminophen) (paracetomol 500 mg) be taken thrice a day for two weeks? Is it safe? Can it cause harm to liver?
Depends: It depends on your liver. If you are a healthy young person, 1.5 grams of paracetamol is safe. However, toxicity can still happen even when adhering to safe doses. I would try to take as little paracetamol as possible. In addition, you are only treating pain with paracetamol. You should also treat the underlying cause that is causing the pain. ...Read more
Is it normal to not be prescribed prescription pain meds after tonsillectomy? Was told to give my son childrens Tylenol (acetaminophen) and its not helping
Pain control Rx: is normal after surgery, but for many children, Tylenol (acetaminophen) is sufficient to manage discomfort after T/A. Be sure dose is correct for weight. If bleeding is well controlled, your child may benefit from adding ibuprofen as well, which can be given every 6-8 hours. Pain relief Tylenol (acetaminophen)+ibuprofen is comparable to oral doses of Tylenol (acetaminophen).+hydrocodone and is tolerated better. Call your child's surgeon. ...Read more
How many hours apart should I be taking my 1mg lorazepam a day as needed and 5ml codeine cough syrup for pneumonia, to be safe?
Ask pharmacist or Dr: The risks are not terrible as long as you stay pretty much at rest. Becoming drowsy or dizzy and having judgement impaired are the common effects and make it dangerous to drive or do tasks that require clarity. But do call to ask and get good info on what to do if you feel bad. I hope you feel better real soon. ...Read more
What is the correct dosage for acetaminophen for a 7 month old and 22.8 pound baby? I am giving him1.25 ml every 4 hours and doesn't seems to working
150mg per dose: The dose for a 22lb (10kg) baby is 150mg of tylenol (acetaminophen) (acetominophen) every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain or fever. If the baby is very fussy and/or the tylenol (acetaminophen) is not helping, the parent can call the doctor for what to do. Sometimes serious illnesses can start with routine cold symptoms in a baby. Sometimes they need to be on antibiotics for an infection, so a doctor's exam is beneficial. ...Read more
Shouldn't prednisone be prescribed in titrated doses? I am 76 years old. Last week i was taken to the ER with an acute allergic reaction (hives, swollen tongue, etc.). The physician prescribed prednisone 40 mg q. D. X 4. A nurse told me that prednisone
Workup and Mgt: Usually a short course of prednisone does not need to be titrated, unless you have a medical condition that necessitates this. I would suggest that you have an Epi Pen at home and with you, with instructions for its use. In addition, it is important to know what triggered this reaction and to avoid the triggers. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
