See answer: FIRST OFF, IF YOU ARE IN YOUR 20'S OR 30'S COLON CA IS UNCOMMON. The incidence increases with age. Colon cancer has NO symptoms in it's early phase. Cancer of the right colon presents with anemia, changes in BM or pain are a very late sign. If not, then you may well have ibs, but not having access to your medical records and not having examined you makes it impossible to diagnose. Not necessarily: Some colon cancers are very slow growing and may not have significant worsening of symptoms over 8 months. However, the symptoms of colon cancer are usually quite different than ibs symptoms. But having ibs does not mean you might not also have colon cancer.
