Medication can exist: First, being a 38 year old makes the chances of having an undiagnosed complicating condition less likely---but this medication can certainly make constipation worse. Your should call your prescribing physician to apprise him/her. Depending on other c0nditions, prior surgery, type of pain - different exams, xrays, interventions may be required-unless this a typical pain pattern for your condition. ...Read more

See answer: Without knowing your symptoms, it is difficult to assess what the best therapy would be. Have you had the H. pylori treated? If so, did you have confirmation of eradication? My wife is taking Prozac (fluoxetine) primarily for IBS relief (been on it 2 weeks). She has a severe cold and I want to know if NyQuil would be ok or not.

Caution: Nyquil and many cold/cough OTC meds contain dextromethorphan, a cough suppressant, which can interact with serotonergic antidepressants like Prozac (fluoxetine) to increase risk for serotonin syndrome. Ask pharmacist for advice to avoid dextromethorphan. See: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/serotonin-syndrome/basics/definition/con-20028946 I hope this helps. Best wishes. ...Read more
