IBS and pregnancy: IBS is actually poorly studied in pregnancy. About 1/3 of pregnant women report constipation, usually late in the pregnancy, and another 1/3 report increased stool frequency. In addition, increased stress during pregnancy can make IBS symptoms worse. Increasing fiber intake often helps. You should increase fluid intake also. IBS: Is best treated by hi fiber and fluids, consistent meal times and quantities of food. Drink 80-100 ounces of caffeine free/alcohol free fluid daily, more if you exercis.
