Diagnosed with IBS - cramping and constipation. Was prescribed nortrypline-no relief. Alternatives?
IBS-C with bloating, indigestion, distention. Taking Bentyl (dicyclomine) 20mg x4 a day. Will this help with constipation & distention of stomach?

Should be checked: Pain on the left side or under the belly button could be diverticulitis. R lower could be a chronic appendicitis. You state to be taking laxatives so I believe defecation is difficult. Ginger tea: I'm a strong advocate of ginger - boil a few slices in water x 10 min, add some honey and drink - it should help with stomach pains and nausea. "Volume" -that is beverages (without caffeine!) can help when you have GI losses like yours. Fluids will help with 'strength' as well-restoring some energy. Another drink I like is hot chocolate-melt dark chocolate in hot water. No milk, but little sugar. ...Read more
