How long does it take for amitriptyline side effects to go away? On only a 10mg dose for ibs-d and I'm always tired and have pretty bad body aches.
Are you taking it: At bedtime? Some people are very slow metabolizers of this drug and you may have a higher blood level than your doctor intended. Usually there is no sedation from 10mg, and, if anything it helps aches and pains. You may have something else going on. Have your doctor check an Amitriptyline blood level to see if it needs to be lowered. If that is the case I would follow up with a test for cyp4502d6. ...Read more

Ibs, celiac, or crohn's? My sister was diagnosed with celiac and I know its genetic. I did test negative years ago, and understand it can develop at anytime. About 6 months ago I started to have a constant stomach ache, a few skin rashes, and nausea,
Off & on i'll get stomach ache. Bit side discomfort. Nausea. Doc said ibs. Stool is always soft mushy. Green-brown. Slimy & green mucus. This ibs?
Wellll....: The presence of mucus concerns me - could be a sign of inflammatory bowel disease. Ibs is more of a description than a disease - there's no diagnostic test or treatment, and is usually tagged to people who have any number of vague GI symptoms but no definitive diagnosis. I suggest good hydration, a balanced diet, and some yogurt. Consider a GI consult for the stool mucus. Good luck. ...Read more
