I Woke Up With My Heart Racing Should I Be Concerned
I woke up with my heart racing and numbness in my left side. I have never felt such a thing, no other symptoms and now feel ok. What to do?
Arrhythmia : You may have a supraventricular arrhythmia or rapid heart rhythm coming from the upper portion of the heart. You probably should be evaluated to exclude structural heart disease, thyroid disease of abnormal blood chemistries. Then if the rhythm abnormality is found it can be often treated with medications. If problems become very frequent or severe the disturbance might be curable with radiowaves. ...Read more
I'm a healthy 29 year old male and I woke up with my heart racing. It's still pounding fairly intensely even after being awake for a few minutes.
I dont drink often but on valentines Day i had 3 glasses of wine and a beer. Went to sleep and woke up with my heart racing 160 bpm. Why?
I was sleeping just now and woke up with my heart racing . Is that dangerous or harmful for my heart ? My echo and ekg's were normal i hav anxiety.
Woke up with numb left arm. Heart racing at 180. Have had ekg, echo, stress test and ct w/ contrast all come back normql. Could it still be my heart?
Yes! Go back!: It is impossible to say what you have from your symptoms. This is likely a supraventricular tachycardia. You need further evaluation. At your age this is mainly an annoyance, but could be life threatening if you have the symptoms in an unsafe situation. What you need in my opinion is an EVENT RECORDER. This can be provided by your cardiologist or even primary physician. Get diagnosed and get well! ...Read more
Woke up yesterday morning and felt really bad, broke out in a sweat, chest pain, heart racing, light headed. Bp80/76 p142. What causes this, is it dan?
On Xifaxan (rifaximin). I took Zofran, Slept, woke up, everything looked blurry. Heart racing very fast, agonizing cramps. Is it dehydration, reaction or anxiety?
Maybe both drugs: YOu are taking more than one drug and the side effects can overlap. Why are you taking xifaxin This is usually for liver disease or people with travelers diarrhea. Can also cause diarrhea of itself. Both drugs can cause nausea, and either can cause cramps. I would eliminate the zofran (ondansetron) as this is very expensive and used mostly for people on chemotherapy. Heart racing may be anxiety BEst wishes ...Read more

For two years I've been having issues with my heart racing for no reason. My stress test was negative. Should I be concerned?
Heart racing concern: If heart palpitations are your only symptom, most likely you should not be concerned. Common causes would be dehydration, anxiety, intake of stimulants (e.g. caffeine, nicotine, etc.). Another less likely cause would be Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. This would need to be diagnosed with an event monitor. If you are experiencing other symptoms of anxiety, contact your PCP for an evaluation. ...Read more
