The little finger of my right hand is swollen in the middle at the joint area and aches, why is this?
Probably a sprain: Sprains of the hand, especially sprains of the small joints of the fingers, are typically stiff, swollen and sore for a number of months-it sometimes takes a year or more for the soreness to go away, and sometimes the swelling can be permanent. It is a good idea to get a sprain evaluated early to make sure nothing else is going on and to completely understand the condition. See a hand surgeon. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My middle finger hurts, swollen and numb. It hurts when I'm not even moving it. X ray came back okay., now my whole right hand is swollen.?
Infection? Gout?: Time to look for other things that may not be seen on an xray. Your doctor was probably looking for any small fracture that could be causing the pain. Have you had any fevers? Redness? Recent cuts or abrasions around the finger? Consider that your symptoms may be from an infection. Gout is another possibility. Make sure you followup with your doctor and good luck! Yep.: Yep. You probably have what's called a boxer's fracture. It most commonly occurs not in boxers but in people who have punched walls or wooden beams. What's likely broken in the bone that connects your pinkie finger to your wrist, and possibly also the one next to it. If so, you need a cast. If you don't treat it, you could wind up with a permanent deformity in your hand. Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

After carpal tunnel: Mild pain may be a sign of normal healing (we all go at a different pace), pillar pain, pain from joints adjacent to the carpal tunnel, another source such as a trigger finger, scar sensitivity, swelling from overdoing it too soon, and the list goes on. Arthritis in finger joints can also cause AM swelling and stiffness. Many assume the CTS is for all the symptoms but often there is more going on. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I sprain my wrist 5 mon ago and wear an ACE wrap at night, when I wake up ion the morning, my hand is swollen and ache. What does this mean?
It probably means that you apply the ACE to snugly/ you mention a cyst on MRI?? where was it
try wrapping it with plastic food wrap at bedtime BUT not too tightly this keeps in body heat and increases circulation and may help / also may try DMSO which is a horse liniment which can be found at Tractor Supply or similar stores apply 3-4 x/day it helps many aches and pains

Why is my right hand often swollen when I wake up? It's not numb/tingling and I've had no injuries.
Possibly arthritis: You may have an inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritris or another condition that can have arthritis (swollen joint (s)) as part of the condition. Infection (active infection or your body's response to an infection somewhere else in your body recently) can also cause hand and joint swelling depending on how quickly it began and how long it's been swollen.
