Diarrhea: From your answer, I am taking for granted that you have no bleeding of fever. It could be just a virus but you should avoid dairy for about 2 weeks as some infections can give you a short term lactose intolerance. Try a BRAT diet (banana, rice, apple sauce tea toast). See doctor: Persistent diarrhea can be a sign of infection or inflammation in the bowel. Seeing a doctor to have an exam, blood tests and stool studies would be the best thing to sort out what is going on and to develop a treatment plan. Colon Inf/bact toxin: You may have eaten something spoiled. You may have C-dificille if U recently had antibiotics. Could be viral. If food has toxins from bacteria (i.e., spoiled) U can have diarrhea from toxin few days, assuming food cooked well killing bacteria. See your doctor.: There are many possible causes of diarrhea, most of which are self-limited and resolve on their own in a week or two. I presume you had: a vaginal hysterectomy; the incision is inside your vagina and is close to the rectum. The loose stool usually associated with diarrhea can much more easily travel to the site of the incision and potentially cause an infection. While not terribly unusual, it is not normal.
