I Take Clonidine For High Blood Pressure Can You Take Suboxone With It
A blood pressure reading has two numbers: a systolic blood pressure and a diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure is the maximum pressure the blood exerts on the vessels when the heart is beating. The diastolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the vessels in between heartbeats. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, begins when the systolic blood pressure remains above 140 or when the diastolic blood pressure remains above 90. Hypertension can be a result of increased blood flow through vessels or increased resistance to ...Read more
Is clonidine typically used for very high blood pressure or can it be used for stage 1 hypertension, as well?
Yes to both.: Clonidine is an old medication used initially to lower high blood pressure. It also is helpful in reducing motor and vocal tics and recently was fda endorsed for treating adhd--something for which clinicians have routinely been using it for well over 20 years. The form the fda approved is called kapvay, a twice-a-day sustained-release version. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hypertension: how long does it usually take for clonidine to have an effect on blood pressure? Days or weeks?
Currently on Bupropion 200mg + Prozac 40mg. Is adding Clonidine (to treat anxiety + slightly high blood pressure) a good idea?
Out of clonidine, hydralozine, amalodipine, coreg (carvedilol) and losartan. Which is the high blood pressure drug would most likely cause erectile dysfunction?
Of the drugs listed: clonidine is the only one commonly associated with ED unless diuretics are involved. However, other factors may play a role: uncontrolled BP, elevated lipid levels (cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides), emotional factors, insulin resistance/diabetes. The dose of drug is important factor: higher doses may cause problems whereas lower doses do not. Some supplements may also be involved. ...Read more
Was on clonadine for high blood pressure .03 3 times a day. Switched pcp s how do you wein off this horrible drug, from my position? HELP?
Easy, decrease dose/: day about 1/4 to 1/3 at a time (split pills), check BP response a few times a day over the next several days & then similarly decrease again. Clonidine in effect fools brain stem control that BP is higher than it really is. Thus if dose ?ed to rapidly, brain perceives a sudden BP drop, tightens arterioles body wide & drives BP ?. If you are monitoring BP, you can see ?es & adjust accordingly. ...Read more

-coreg cr 40mg and 20mg (60mg total) once a day
By : By the date of this post almost a week has passed. I will assume that your grandmother has seen or spoken with her doctor. If not she must do so immediately. For the future, if her BP rises that high, along with having symptoms (in her case she had severe headache and nausea). This is reason to take her to the urgent care or at least give a call in to her doctor for instruction. It sounds like your grandmother needs a change in her treatment plan in order to lower her bp. All the best. ...Read more
High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) (Definition)
A blood pressure reading has two numbers: a systolic blood pressure (top number) and a diastolic blood pressure (bottom number). The systolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the artery when the heart is at maximum contraction. The diastolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the artery when the heart is at maximum relaxation. Ideal blood pressure is 120/80 or lower. High blood pressure, or hypertension, is 140/90 or higher. ...Read more
