I Play Volleyball And Am Experiencing Knee Pain What Is The Next Step
Would you recommend I get an MRI of my wrist if I am experiencing moderate throbbing pain in the carpal area behind my thumb and I am a regular weekend golfer (4-5x per month) just started icing for first time.
Not at first.: Talk to your doc about it. Often physical therapy is tried first and if no improvement, further tests can be done. MRI should wait, unless serious trauma caused the pain and x-rays were negative. This is usually a technique issue or undertraining. Any exercise should be done 3 x a week, or strength does not develop and you never get stronger. ...Read more

Knee exam needed: Consider going to your PCP or orthopaedic surgeon to have a thorough knee exam. They would determine whether X-Rays or an MRI is indicated. I am having a lot of medial knee pain worse at night i also having a displacement of the meniscus i don't know how to find relief? Clicking and lock?
Get it evaluated: Unfortunately what you are suffering from are called mechanical symptoms associated with the meniscus flap getting caught in the joint. There is poor blood supply to the meniscus therefore there is a low probability that it will heal on its own. Therefore i suggest an evaluation with an orthopedist to discuss possible options to treat the meniscus tear. ...Read more

Those darn stairs.: Well without an x-ray evaluation one could never really know as to a possible fracture. Having said that, You need to be on the RICE diet. Rest. Ice applied. Compression dressing and Elevation. Crutches can help to get around but until it is evaluated, your are in the hands of mother nature and good old common sense. Now go out there and win one for the Gipper. ...Read more

After having 3 knee surgeries still I have a inflamed tendon and wondering what the next steps would be?
No more surgery...: Ovviously, you have a major disorder of the knee, having had three procedures. Obviously I do not know the nature of the problem nor the procedures done. There are two types of specialists that i would you suggest consulting with. 1. Rheumatologist, a medical specialist in joint diseases. 2. Physiatrist (also pm&r) specializing in all disorders of the m-s system. Then, cold, heat, physical therapy. ...Read more
