What can cause a swishing sound in ears when hearing high pitched sounds? Ear tests were ok and doc said i just had sensitive ears so should i accept?

May be other entity: There are other "things" that can cause one to hear swishing sounds in the ear so if your doctor has only sent you for audiometry testing you could inquire as to their opinion in performing some other tests to rule out something abnormal within the inner ear or even the neck itself. It is slightly odd that only high pitched sounds seem to trigger the noise though. I'm not sure what that indicates. ...Read more

What is wrong with my ears electronics hurt my ear now? A weak ago i had lots of wax in my ears the doctor cleaned out all the wax i went home now when its quiet i hear a high pitched sound from the television and when its quiet i hear a hissing sound my

If : If the doctors cleaned a large amount of wax out of your ears, you may simply be hearing things you couldn't hear with your ears plugged. I'm not sure what you mean by your ears being sensitive to electronics. If you mean you are hearing more hissing and high pitched sounds, it could just mean you can hear better. If you mean wearing ear buds and earphones hurts, it may be that your ear cartilage is sore from using electronics too much. Sometimes the ear canals can get bruised cleaning wax out of the ears, and that could cause discomfort as well. If the problem is slowly improving, i would wait. If getting worse, return to your doctor, or an ear doctor to have it checked out. ...Read more

Sudden change: I need more information to answer this question. Was there an injury or trauma to the ear or head that preceded the sudden change in your hearing? Are there any other changes in your hearing? Is there a change in how well you can hear low volume sounds? I recommend getting examined by a doctor and getting a hearing test done by an audiologist. ...Read more

I get verry annoyed from sounds, I have a high level of concentration i can hear people chewing food as example and this annoys me. Is this normal?

No: From your comments, you sound very tense and easily disturbed. It would be hard to imagine functioning well in school or work if even others' chewing noises upsets you. Short of their chewing noisy items like granola, apples, etc, anyway! you might consider staying off caffeine and other stimulants if using these, and consulting a psychologist about your level of tension and stress. ...Read more
