I'm Having Chest Pains On My Right Side
I'm having sharp chest pains on my right side when coughing. I was sick last week with a fever, body aches, and a mild cold. Had the problem since.
You may have: Popped a rib, or intercostal muscle between the ribs, when you coughed too hard. This happens fairly frequently, and it will a couple of weeks to heal. Try to take some ibuprofen 200-400 mg 2-3 times a day for a few days and see if things improve. If not, then you need to see a healthcare provider to help properly diagnose and treat. I'm having chest pains on my right side and a sharp pain down my right arm heart rate is def fast and slow
Please: Please call 911. Although this is an atypical presentation - chest pain, marked variations in your heart rhythm and numbness could be an arythmia / heart attack. Symptoms of a heart attack can include: chest pain; chest tightness or squeezing; shortness of breath, increased sweating pain or numbness radiating down the arm (more often left than right) and nausea. Some people dismiss the pain thinking it is indigestion. There can be pain in the top midline of the abdomen, as well as vomiting. Pain may not present in the chest but instead can be felt in the upper back, head, jaw or in the teeth. There may be a generalized feeling of unwellness and fatigue. One fourth of people have heart attacks without chest pain. Please call 911. You need to evaluated asap. Take care. Read more

Hi Dr. I'm having chest pains from the middle of my chest to the left side of my chest. I haven't had much of an appetite lately. Can you help?
Doctor can evaluate: A person with chest pain should see her doctor to be examined. Pains can come from a heart problem (serious!), neck and shoulder muscles, the ribs and their joints, the "pleural" lining of the lungs and ribs, the lungs themselves, etc... If one feels her pain is coming from the heart, has a chest tightness, some difficulty breathing, or has past heart disease, she can go to the E.R. by ambulance. Read more

Hello.: Hello. I can't diagnose the cause of the pain in the area of your left breast. I noted that you tagged this as cardiology, which suggests that you are concerned about your heart. I will list some of the symptoms of a mycocardial infarction (heart attack). Chest pain, tightness, squeezing or fullness is the most common presentation. However the pain can also present in the upper back, the upper middle abdomen, jaw, head, teeth or in the arms (left more than right). One could have nausea, vomiting or it could feel like indigestion or heartburn. Feeling short of breath, sweating and just feeling out of sorts can also occur. About a fourth of people have no significant symptoms during a heart attack. I don't hear you describing this constellation of symptoms. Just because you were not able to reproduce the pain doesn't necessarily mean that it is not of a musculoskeletal origin. Your symptoms are very - nonspecific, so there are many possible causes. Being a single mother is terrifically stressful, if you feel stressed consider deep breathing exercises. It is very fast and very effective, breath in deeply and slowly through your nose. Raise your arms so that you can more fully fill the lungs, hold for a five count. Exhale slowly through your mouth. Do this about 12 times, it can be remarkably calming. If you find that the pain is not resolving or is recurring, would recommed evaluation. Take care. Read more

I'm 24 been dealing with sharp chest pains on left side for years people to me anxiety but hurts. When movin breathin layin down etc. Should I worry?
Get an evaluation: I can't really tell from your question what you have done to get this evaluated. It is worth seeing your doctor and getting a good history and physical done. Your doctor will want to find out when it happens, if there are things that make it worse or better, exactly what the pain feels like, and if there are other symptoms (shortness of breath, racing heart, anxiety, etcetera). Yes: I just don't know how sharp chest pains could ever be considered "good" (!), but it's unlikely to be your heart. Other considerations include pleurisy, pneumonia, gall bladder disease, costochondritis, myofascial syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, shingles, and others. Read more
