I Keep Getting Scabs In My Nose Could This Be Due To Allergies
Scabs in nose: Scabs occur as the body tries to heal from an intense inflammatory response. While these are sometimes seen with allergies, they may be more common due to infection or trauma inside the lining of the nose. Rarely, scabs may signify an underlying autoimmune condition such as wegener’s granulomatosis where nasal blood vessels become chronically inflamed. A biopsy may be helpful to determine a cause. ...Read more

Unlikely: The inflammation of allergies can cause the lining of the nose to swell and secrete mucus, but the outward appearance of the nose should not change. However, enlarging nasal polyps can cause mild shape changes. With polyps that size, a person's sense of smell would be severely impaired. An ENT would be a useful resource. ...Read more

Maybe: If you are talking about hay fever, then it is a potential yes. See your PCP: A referral to an ENT is in order. Holes in the septum can come from many causes: infection, chronic rhinitis, decongestant nasal spray abuse/overdose, cancer, chronic nose-picking, etc. In early stages, a graft procedure can be performed using tendon from another site in your body.
