Diabetes fatigue: This could be related. How high are his sugars? Maybe there is something else going on, and the high sugars are secondary. There are may causes for fatigue. It is hard to watch someone who is not doing well, but try to get him to see his doctor for a check up. ...Read more

Depends: Check his blood sugar first and determine high or low or normal. Contact your physician with his symptoms and readings to get advice on what to do. If it's low <70-80 give him carbs like OJ, crackers, glucose oral tabs or gel and call doctor for further instructions. Call EMS/911 or drive him to ER if instructed for severe symptoms with high or low blood sugars persisting. ...Read more

Sugar could be low: It is possible there is too much of a good thing.. With an a1c that low, depending on what medication you are taking for diabetes, you could be having sugars that are low, such as below 90 or 80. That will make you fel awful. The goal for a1c (3 month blood sugar average) is below 7. In order for it to drift much below 6, you would have to have the occasional low sugar, which causes fatigue. ...Read more
