What are some home remedies for a bad cough/sore throat other than cough drops and salt water?

My favorite: My favorite is a classic "hot toddy." specifically I use a camomile tea with honey, lemon juice and either rum or whiskey (about half-a-shot). The choice of spirits is up to you. The point is to drink a warm liquid that will relax you and open up your airways. (adult only for alcohol, however, lemon, honey, and tea can be used alone for those abstaining or kids.). ...Read more

Thrush vs cancer: Do you mean vaginal yeast infection? It is possible you have it in the mouth too, which would explain your symptoms and is called thrush. M south indian. Are sore throats caused by some viruses. Will hot salt water gargling cures this sore throat by killing this viruses?

See below: Hot salt water gargling will definitely help. It is one of the best initial treatments. However, it won't kill the virus. Your immune system does that. Gargling will clear out the mucus and contaminants from the air that get trapped. This can lead to discomfort, frequent coughing, and even secondary infections sometimes. Even if bacterial and you need antibiotics, I strongly recommend gargling. ...Read more
