If it smells bad, and it's been a few days since having it pierced, it could possibly be an infection. Need more info: Questions.. did a physician pierce your nose, if not were sterile method done for the procedure? Why have you waited 6 months to get help? You could have an infection or even an allergic reaction. Please make an appointment with an ear,nose,& throat specialist as soon as you can. Nose piercing: Hello, this localized inflammation was probably an infection in the adjacent area. The nose has bacteria in it and it is impossible to sterilize the inside of the nose. I am hoping and assuming you went to a reputable individual for your piercing. Since the fluid was expressed when it "popped", there is probably little to do now except for cleaning as instructed and apply an antibiotic ointment. ...Read more
