Probably not: 2/8=1/4" not very long, and if the 2 borders are close to each other then serous fluid will likely glue the skin back together. I sometimes use superglue or cyanocrylate to to close the small wound.

The: The bump on your head caused subcutaneous bleeding. The blood from the bruise dissected along tissue planes until it got to the scar and stopped. Your body will reabsorb the blood over the next few weeks. There is no reason for concern and no need to see the doctor as long as the head injury was minor with no loss of consciousness or subsequent impairment other than a bruise.

May need MRI: The chances a
re you are still experiencing mild, transient effects from your mishap - i.e. mild concussion. My advice is to return to the ER where you were treated and let them decide whether to proceed further. An undiagnosed head injury would dangerous for you and disastrous for them so they will pay attention. If not, seek a 2nd opinion from a neurologist.

Hit my head pretty hard on the doorway. When should I start to worry?

Hit my head pretty hard on the doorway. When should I start to worry?

Right then: Cheer up. If you hit hard enough to get an epidural hematoma you'd be dead already. The other clot, a subdural hematoma, develops more slowly. If you have a bad headache that gets worse, anything that seems abnormal, nausea, vomiting, etc. Go the er where you will have a ct scan that will probably be normal, an enormous bill, and be told you have a concussion. Worry if things are getting worse.

Have hypochondria and everytime I hit my head I think I break my neck. Can you ease my worries. How much force to break neck?

Have hypochondria and everytime I hit my head I think I break my neck. Can you ease my worries. How much force to break neck?

Not a good idea: If you really have hypochondriasis, then you probably know that seeking reassurance is counter productive and not useful. Health anxiety is very hard to deal with but you have to own it. Accept the anxiety.

Had a concussion two years ago. Got in a car last night, the ride was bumpy. Hit my head a few times on hard part of seat. Should I worry about it?

Had a concussion two years ago. Got in a car last night, the ride was bumpy. Hit my head a few times on hard part of seat. Should I worry about it?

Not likely: Unless you hit your head pretty hard, it's unlikely. Questions to ask yourself: did you experience loss of consciousness? dizziness? visual changes? nausea? altered mental status? Confusion? sleepiness? if you had no symptoms, and still don't, concussion recurrence from car ride unlikely.

Concussion?: Head trauma that results in persistent symptoms is usually a concussion, which means the brain is still trying to recover from the physical shock. A medical exam is needed to determine if this has happened and to recommend appropriate measures to ensure complete recovery and reduce risk of further damage.

I hit my head today and I put a wet cloth on it and then it was fine and now I have a headache Will I die? Is it something to worry about?

I hit my head today and I put a wet cloth on it and then it was fine and now I have a headache Will I die? Is it something to worry about?

You will not Die! Bu: Headache can occur due to injury to the head. You can take a couple of tylenols (acetaminophen) and that will help. If the headache is getting worse and is more severe tomorrow or if you feel nauseated or start vomiting these are bad signs and require a medical check up. Be prepared to go to an ER if the situation gets much worse overnight. Ask you family to keep an eye on you overnight, in case you were to get w

Depends: The effects of concussions can vary and be unpredictable. It depends on the severity of the injury. The symptoms can include headache, dizziness, vision change (blurred vision/ double vision), nausea/vomiting. If your symptoms or headache are severe, or if you have a loss of consciousness, you should get evaluated immediately.

See HA Specialist: Acute symptoms are typically self-limited and Tylenol (acetaminophen) OTC is the best immediate therapy. However, specialty evaluation should not be delayed if concerns for neurological symptoms worsen during the post traumatic period. See Headache or Orofacial Pain specialist.

Post concussive: After a concussion it is not unusual to have some persistent headache, dizziness, vertigo or general malaise. So long as the symptoms are getting better slowly, I wouldn't worry too much. If increased activity worsens the symptoms, slow down and see if doing a little less helps improve your symptoms. If you are getting worse, go see your doctor!!

Concussion: Is a concern. Seek medical attention before returning to any athletic or aerobic activity. Even if you don't have " symptoms" other things such as balance, eye movements, and other things that show up on a basic neurological exam are possible.

Depends: If your eye was not hit and shows no evidence of redness, double vision and or blurring do not worry. The bones around the eye protected the eye.

Yesterday I hit my head quite hard Since I have been very tender just behind/above my ear. Tender to touch, hurt when moving eyebrows. Should I worry?

Yesterday I hit my head quite hard Since I have been very tender just behind/above my ear. Tender to touch, hurt when moving eyebrows. Should I worry?

No: The muscles of the face, "scalp" are under this area. You are likely feeling it when you move the eyebrows which is elevating the epcranius and the temporal muscles which sit adjacent to each other. Should get better with rest and time!
