Can I ask why bronchiectasis increases risk of lung cancer?I heard that there is a link and increased risk but don't understand how n why this happens

I've heard that there's a high chance of you bleeding to death from female circumcision. Is this true?

I've heard that there's a high chance of you bleeding to death from female circumcision. Is this true?

Potentially: Since there is no medical indication for female circumcision, it is often done quickly and inappropriately by people with no training or experience -- using crude and unsanitary instruments. It is a sad, backward, uneducated and unfortunate world-wide occurrence that education and common sense have not been able to eliminate. ...Read more

I have heard of people who have died because of food in the air pipe. Is this true? Is it even possible? If so, why? Im scared it will happen to me

I have heard of people who have died because of food in the air pipe. Is this true? Is it even possible? If so, why?
Im scared it will happen to me

Talk man to man: I'm a pathologist and i've autopsied four people that this has happened to. All four were either very drunk or so old and (forgive me) decrepit that they couldn't manage their swallowing any more. I focus on these things and I have never even heard of a physically-fit non-intoxicated person having this happen to them. Recognize the fear as unrealistic & choose your next step accordingly. ...Read more

Can someone get cancer of the heart? I know its strange question but I've never heard of such a thing

Can someone get cancer of the heart? I know its strange question but I've never heard of such a thing

Rarely: Tumors of the heart are exceptionally rare. Centers like the mayo clinic report about 1 case/yr; most doctors have never seen one. Only about 10% of heart tumors are cancerous; the others are benign. The most common benign tumor of the heart is an atrial myxoma which can grow large and obstruct blood flow through the heart. Even these are still really rare. ...Read more
