Im hearing a whooshing sound in my left ear. Its not all day but i most often hear it when i yawn, lay down, or turn my head. What could it be ?

High : High pressures generated from a valsalva maneuver that you performed could generate the type of sound that you described if you had a perforation. Also, if you tasted your eardrops that could be an indirect sign of perforation as a pathway from your ear canal, through a perforation, down the eustacian tube, and into the back of your throat. If you haven't seen an ent, it may be wise to have this checked, get a hearing test, and discuss options for possible corrective surgery if you have a perforation, or other appropriate tympanomastoid surgery depending on the severity of the problem. ...Read more

It means blood is: circulating into your head (brains). You want to hear it as long as you're alive! You need to not tunE into it as much, just like hearing your heart beat! If you didn't hear it, then you should really be worried! Don't get anxious over it. When it's quiet at night, it's more audible. It's a good thing! Use white noise of waves or nature sounds to distract you if irritates or worried by it. ...Read more

Eustachian trouble: Eustachian tube normally allows air from throat to reach middle ear behind eardrum. Congestion blocks the tube so ear feels plugged. Theres not much that will help except time. Afrin nasal spray might. It's not typical for this to cause a buzzing noise. Sometimes a virus can affect the inner ear where sounds generate nerve signals.
