Clicking in forehead: "Clicking noises" in one's forehead are usually dental in nature, and can come with shifting of the jaw where it joins the skull. The noise is easily transmitted by bone, and may seem to occur in the front of your skull (forehead). See if you can duplicate the noise you describe by consciously shifting your clenched jaw. ...Read more

I'm a runner And just today I was running and I started to hear a clicking sound in the back of my head I'm getting really worried?

Head clicks: I've seen this complaint before, and it always seems to be a mystery and it's never been anything scary (like a tumor). HOWEVER, I always check everything out. Possibilities include ear canal (wax can cause amplified internal sounds), joint issues in cervical spine, temporomandibular joint problems, and of course, brain issues. See your provider and ease off on running until then. ...Read more

It's like an internal clicking I hear when I walk inside the top of my head almost like someone is tapping a coin against my skull, what is it?

Tapping noise: skull: Your body is mostly liquid, and as you may know from swimming with your head under water, sounds in water are transmitted loudly. The noise you describe is probably from a joint in your shoulder or hip which may be "heard" while walking. It probably is not serious, but if it continues, see an orthopedic doctor or an internist to determine the cause. ...Read more

The muscle in my ear makes a double click when I move my head and people around me can hear. Have had this for months. Is this treatable.

Not your ear: The sound is not likely coming from the ear itself, or a muscle at all. More likely a ligament or bone in your upper neck is the source. Neck bones: Rubbing against each other very near to the ear canals (so you're basically "hearing" it by the feel) is still the most likely possibility. It probably is not worth worrying about unless you also have pain or have had an injury. In which case, see a doctor and get some x-rays. ...Read more

Excessive sleepiness, nausea or vomiting would be other signs that the shunt is not working properly. Of course, testing may show no change! People with shunts get headaches too... ...Read more
