Jaw clicking: wait or see someone now? About 10 days ago, after tearing into the crust of a pizza, I began to hear a crunching/clicking sound when I move my jaw. There is no pain and I can still move my jaw fully. Is this something I should go get this ch

You: You may have irritated the temporomandibular joint a bit when you tore into that pizza slice. I doubt you have any severe or permanent damage, but you never know.

Hot compresses with a wet towel before you go to bed will help relax the muscles and the joint. Keep your talking to a minimum. Basically, give the joint a rest. Otc antiinflammatory meds will help, too.

Can't give you a typical average time. Everyone is different. If after the next week or so you still have problems, make an appointment with your dentist. ...Read more
