I haven't had my period for 3 months, I'm only 17 what are some possible things that could be wrong with me and what should I do about it?
Secondary Amenorrhea: The number one cause is pregnancy, so if you are sexually active, check a pregnancy test. An anovulatory cycle (the ovaries are not releasing an egg) can be another cause, thyroid issues, anxiety, hormonal imbalances, rapid weight issues, severe exercise, etc. are all other possible causes. I haven't had my period for a while and than all of a sudden it comes back and it's lasted for about 3 months. What should I do?
Anovulation?: Its possible that you aren't ovulating. Initially when you stop ovulating you can skip periods. But the lining of the uterus continues to grow and eventually you can have very prolonged bleeding. This is usually treated with hormones such as birth-control pills. It's almost the end of the month and I haven't had my period yet what does that mean. I was suppose to have it on the 16/17/18 and it never happened.
Many things: Most commonly it is from not ovulating. If your pregnancy test is negative and you haven't had a period in over three months, then you need to see your doctor about some medication so the lining of your womb doesn't become too thick.
