Dose is too high: That dosage is a bit high and any additional probably won't add any additional sedative value. I would suggest other alternatives, such as doxylamine or prescription strength hypnotics. Also a natural alternative melatonin does help improve sleep cycles, while not short term effective may prove to help in the longer term. An evaluation of sleep patterns also may help. Yes, be sure that : You are using excellent sleep hygiene. Retire ; rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark ; cool ; use only for sex ; sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs ; no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized ; finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep. Could be many things: See your doctor. There are mental health problems that could be causing this but also physical ones, such as anemia, sleep apnea, hypothyroidism... Many others.
