See a Laryngologist: You need someone to examine your vocal production and resonance system- your voicebox and throat. Yes, palate abnormalities can contribute to difficulty making yourself understood. You need an expert team with a voice physician and a speech pathologist to work with you. Voice variation: Could be post nasal drip(PND) . Would consider elevating head of bed when sleeping,taking zyrtec once a day, wearing a mask around dusty areas, keeping a food diary as in some people diary or other food cause nasal congestion . Allergy vs "sinus": If the voice is hoarse for several days, it could be due to an upper respiratory virus, allergies, a subacute sinus infection, heartburn (reflux) or another issue. More history would be needed to pick the culprit: itchy nose or throat could=allergy; lots of sick friends could=a cold; burning throat and lower chest could =reflux; yellow mucus and face pain could=sinus infection. ...Read more

It is atypical. See : his pediatrician for referral to a child psychiatrist & a child psychologist for evaluation & treatment. DO NOT question him; let mental health professionals differentiate obsessions from hallucinations & anxiety from psychosis. Mgt: If there is a fever, I think your PCP should check her ears and determine whether she needs antibiotics. Most infants resolve their viral symptoms in one week to 10 days. If the green drainage continues beyond that with or without fever, she may have sinusitis and a course of antibiotics is usually prescribed. Nasal saline keeps nasal passages clear. ...Read more

Mucous in throat: The sensation of mucous in throat are common and in young healthy people it is usually the result of constant throat clearing and voluntary coughing and spitting. Acid reflux is another common cause. Break the vicious cylce by drinking water and swallow but do not clear your throat as it will cause more edema in your voice box giving you sensation of mucous there! ...Read more
