I Have Tendonitis In My Right Ankle How Long Will It Take To Heal
I have tendonitis of both wrists, and now tendonitis in my right ankle. As I have a bleeding disorder, and cannot take nsaids, what can I take?
Opiods: If it is the pain that you are having and want to control it, then ask you doctor for pain meds. However, be careful as most of these medicine are habit forming. What i would suggest is icing the areas as much as possible, along with rest and elevation. Also ask your doctor for physical therapy. I have many pts that have the same issue and therapy really helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My daughter has tendonitis in her right ankle. She recently is in more pain and every time she moves it it pops. Should I take her to the ER?
Mgt: I would suggest a follow up with your PCP and a possible referral for Physical Therapy and for pediatric Ortho. Unless there is a history of direct trauma to the area, it is not likely to be fractured. I would suggest an ace wrap, elevation/reduce movement of the ankle and a heating pad. Motrin can be taken if she is still in pain after checking her temperature. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What's the best course of treatment for tendonitis of the ankle? How much time should it take to heal?
Depends: There are quite a few tendons that surround the ankle, tendonitis at back of the ankle is different than tedonitis over the inner aspect and that on the outer aspect. Best course of treatment is based on evaluation of the tendon(s) and the underlying cause and time taken depends on these as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Daughter has ankle tendinitis. Doctor says to take NSAIDS for pain/inflammation. How long can she take naproxen twice a day? Risks? 20 yo/190 lbs.
Naproxen & Ankle Ten: Not recommended to take it chronically on a daily basis because of kidney deterioration. She should hopefully only need Naproxen for less than 2-4 weeks in order to treat acute ankle tendonitis. She can discontinue Naproxen abruptly without any side effects. Voltaren gel (diclofenac) is a topical NSAID that would be even better for your daughter's ankle. Apply directly to the source of pain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is wearing the aircast inflatable stirrup ankle brace suitable for posterior tibial tendonitis? How long should this be worn?
Yes: In most cases the aircast brace is appropriate tx for post tib tendonitis. Occasionally a brace that locks the heal itself might be necessary. With the brace, nsaid's, and some rest mild tendonitis should be better in about 3 weeks. Occasionally more aggressive tx is needed with perhaps a cortizone (hydrocortisone) injection or even surgery if the above and pt doesn't help. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
