I have been having chest pains for two days now. I feel like I have massive pressure in my chest. Should i go to the emergency room?

Panic: No. There would be little they would do for you there other than to tell you that you are having a panic attack. I would recommend getting in to see your family doctor or working on your breathing and coming to terms with what is causing your body to experience anxiety this way. ...Read more

How bad is it?: How long has it been present? Are you weak? Is the arm cold? Hot? Discolored? Any associated symptoms? Heart problems almost never refer solely to right arm. My father just passed away yesterday. I am experiencing headaches, anxiety and intestinal pain. The pain has worsened should I go to ER or walkin

Sorry to hear about: your loss. You will probably find it to get quicker help by going to a Walk in Clinic rather than the ER. You can also see your family doc. In any case, do get yourself checked out. If symptoms pre-dated your dad's death or continue, a clinical psychologist can offer stress management help. Peace and good health. ...Read more

I have been urinating blood and have a sharp pain on my right side what is this? I am 28 and a female I have my tubes tied. Please help i don't know if I should go to the hospital or not.

Blood : Blood in the urine can come from the kidneys, ureters (plumbing that connect the kidneys to the bladder), bladder and urethra. We are generally concerned about infection, stones, traum and tumors in those sites. At your age, you probably have an infection or a stone. I would see a primary care physician to be evaluated. ...Read more

I call heart dr bad chest pain he call me and said it's was nothing see family dr tomorrow should I ask him about the chest pain? Feeling stress

See below: It's unclear what your question is.If your cardiologist is confident your chest pain is "nothing" it means you have had a cardiac tests in the recent past that indicated no significant coronary artery disease In which case I would trust his/her judgement. It's understandable from your history why you would be anxious/stressed.Anxiety can cause chest pain. I see Dr tomorrow sould I tell him I have bad chest pain or no should I call my heart dr and tell him what going on still don't know about the fevers?

Heart disease/fever: Go immediately to see a doctor and be evaluated. Do not wait until tomorrow. Use a University Hospital ER if necessary, but do not delay. If you can see your regular cardiologist that is also good but you must give him a full detailed history of all of your symptoms, and do not be surprised if he want to hospitalize you. Good luck. ...Read more

Nightmare i call 911 for chest pain when on ER they r/o hear then i told them i wanted to talk to some about my pain then they lock me up on phyco ?

Psychiatric diagnosi: It sounds like the er doctors "ruled out" or excluded the possibility that your heart was the cause of the chest pain. Then it appears that they decided the source of your pain was psychiatric. Manic episodes, panic attacks and anxiety attacks are psychiatric conditions that can cause chest pain. It is possible that they made a a mistake in their diagnosis, and if they did, I am sorry. ...Read more

Take it seriously: Chest pain and diagnosis of angina is no joke, you're still young, follow your cardiologist 's advice carefully, go for cardiac cath if need be, reduce weight, stop smoking, control your blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol. Thalassemia by itself isn't a major risk factor for developing angina/cardiovascular disease, good luck ...Read more

If you had a 56y/o patient call for appt stating he had crushing chest pain & sweating last night (gone this am), would you see him or send him to ER ?

ER: Definitely er, if he would insist i would still see him, but in office cardiac evaluation is limited and consequences of missing a heart attack, or not treating it in time can be grave, so hopefully my patient would have enough common sense and wouldn't risk his life and would trust his doctor judgment, because if you don't trust your doctor than you definitely need to find the one you will trust. ...Read more

I am really scared of a pulmonary embolism. How strong would the chest pain be?Huge pain? How long till you die if one shows up?Enough time to call er?

Pulmonary embolism: Patients with a pulmonary emoblism (pe) do not get chest pain. If it is not fatal, patients with pe's have shortness of breath. Most people do not die of pe's, if they are not large. That is not the case if they have a large pe. If the pe is large enough, death occurs quite quickly. A pe is diagnosed by a ct angiogram of the lungs. Why are you worried about a pe? ...Read more
