Painful : Painful bumps on the vagina are worrisome, especially if you are sexually active. Std's (sexually transmitted diseases) need to be considered. If you are sexually active, herpes is high on the list of possible causes, especially if they are fluid filled bumps that look like blisters. Also syphilis can present as a painful lesion. Genital warts typically do not hurt, however they could cause irritation depending on their location. Other non std causes are cysts, abscesses (bacterial infection) folliculitis etc. I highly recommend you see a medical professional for an evaluation and treatment.
