Hello. : Hello. The first thing you should do is not think bariatric surgery since you have this tagged as the specialty. Unless you are particularly muscular, a weight of around 127 would be fine. Now, people write whole books on the question you asked, so there is now way do all of your questions justice on this venue. 1. No crash diets. 2. No crash, hard core exercise routines. 3. Oh, wow ...: This is such a common and universal question! The ease and convenience of snack and fast food works against us. The key is incremental, small changes. Focusing on healthy things you like to eat, add those items (apples for snacks?) gradually into your routine; don't focus on taking things you like away...just slowly substitute healthier things. Start new habits: Here's my simplistic answer to start with. 1. Start an exercise program. Do something every day even if it is only walking at the mall or around the block. You may have one day off if tired or sore. 2. Eat all the vegetables you like, but not butter, less than a tbs per day. Raw vegetables: the more the better. 3. Drink a glass of water before meals. 4. Get hungry!: If you are serious about losing weight, GET HUNGRY, and stay that way. Rather than eleiminating your hunger you need to reframe it in your mind. Hunger is a sign you are putting in less than you are using, and thus buring excess weight, and is a good feeling if you need to lose weight. No easy way: There is 1 formula for losing weight: Limit calorie (carb) intake and exercise daily. How you go about those 2 elements is up to you. If you starve yourself (500 cal /day) your body will go into hibernation mode and you won't lose weight. You have to eat in order to lose weight!
