As long as your vision, speech, hearing, thinking, walking and talking are all normal what you have is hurtful but not harmful. If you have any of those harmful signs seek medical care immediately. A few possiblities: C1 or C2 (or both) could be 'stuck', causing pain. Several nerves in the region could be inflamed. Tiny muscles around vertebrae could be chronically contracted.
