How do I tell my psychiastrist that i think I have borderline? I don't want to diagnose myself, but have almost all the symptoms. I have bipolar aswell

Speak openly: Simply tell your psychiatrist about your concerns, and that you've been studying about these conditions. In some cases, bipolar disorder can be confused with borderline pd, because mood instability can occur in both. That said, most humans have some emotional conflict in the same areas described in borderline pd, without having the full disorder. Do have the conversation with your doctor! ...Read more

Rather, they are what are referred to as over valued thoughts that occur in ocd. I would recommend that you see a psychologist and a psychiatrist for medicinal and psychotherapy treatment of your condition as soon as possible. This sounds like a horrifying condition for you with unwanted thoughts that create a severe sense of dread. Hello. I'm always so different with my moods. I am sad then happy and stressed and I don't know if I have depression or what it could be ?

It depends.: First I would want to make sure that there is no other treatable medical condition underlying your symptoms like: hypo/hyperthyroidism, taking too much caffeine or stimulants, lupus etc. then I would have a discussion with a mental health professional and really examine your life story- if there us a chronic pattern of ups and downs perhaps you might want to consider engaging in therapy. ...Read more

I can smell but i cannot taste could low serotonin cause this. I can taste only few things. I am a little depressed some times.

Smell: Its unlikely that low serotonin has anything to do with this. Metformin has been said to cause a metallic taste, and there are a few claims it caused taste loss. But smell and taste are very primitive, central sensations and I would look for a central nervous system issue. You need a good, thorough neurological workup. Can depression cause partial unconsciousness where you lose a bit of your mind, your personality changes and you do things without being aware of it ?

Maybe: Depression can be very severe and cause problems with memory. But first it is important to make sure there is not something wrong physically! There physical conditions that can cause alterations in thinking, some are fairly easy to correct and some are harder to fix, but the key is to find out if that's the issue, so you don't get worse! See your GP and get a full physical. No drugs, alcohol. ...Read more

Can Zantac (ranitidine) 150mg cause depression? Took yesterday morning and feeling mentally, foggy, dull, tired, and excessive crying over smallest things.

Reported but rare: Depression has been occasionally reported with Zantac (ranitidine) but usually after taking for several days and more likely in "severely ill elderly patients." So if this was a reaction it is unusual; I wonder if you reacted to the fillers or binders instead of the medicine. This may just be a coincidence but the only way to find out would be to try it again... See http://tinyurl.com/j6dgq5u for more... ...Read more

Frustrated but not depressed. Lots of test results with little things wrong led my GI to diagnosis IBS & suggest different psych rx. Should i take this as a hint - it's all in my head? Sick of feeling sick.

IBS is real illness: Ibs is thought to occur because of changes in chemical receptors that line your gut. You GI tract forms from the lowest layer of your brain as a fetus. This layer sloughs off and heads south, carrying all the nerve transmitters and receptors with it that are in our brains. This has led to a new name for the gut, namely the third brain. This is why psych meds are often used in ibs. ...Read more
