I Have Insufficient Bowel Movement And Do Not Have Regular Motion
Treat the cause: Constipation can be caused from poor dietary habits, an undiagnosed or poorly treated thyroid problem, side effect from prescription meds (e.g. Pain killers, calcium channel blockers), and/or from food allergy/sensitivity (e.g. Wheat/gluten), to name a few! you can try taking fiber and drinking more fluids, but treating underlying cause of problem is better, such as addressing the above mentioned. ...Read more
The gastrointestinal tract starts at the mouth, travel down the tunnel (esophagus), which connects to the stomach, which then empties into the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum---the three parts of the small intestine (@25 feet). This empties into the colon or large intestine (about 5 feet), which then becomes the sigmoid colon, rectum and out the anus. So, every morsel eaten ...Read more
How do you confirm twisted bowels? I haven't been able to have a normal bowel movement in over 5 days and when I do it is loose. Have a lot of gas too.
Constipation: It is unusual not to have a bm in five days. Is this a persistent problem? If so, you may have slow transit constipation. Therapy is indicated. Work-up may include several tests to determine the appropriate therapy. Consult a GI doc or colorectal surgeon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
The book answer: Is most of bm is made up of sloughed bowel lining and skin. But diets usually include indigestables, vegetables and fruits with skins. A daily bm is normal. Some have multiple daily, but not going 3 days or longer is not clearing sufficiently. Always start simple and natural: prunes and dried apricots. Cheap, tasty, harmless. ...Read more
If I have trapped air in my stomach with slow digestion and when I have a bowel movement, it seems constipated and "airy". Do I have IBS?
Increase fiber: Try adding a tablespoon or two of psyllium husks every day (Konsyl, Metamucil, etc). Chug it down rapidly, as it will become too thick to drink, otherwise. Follow with another glass of water. Also, 400-500 mg of magnesium every day. You can't OD on magnesium, because it will causse diarrhea when taken in excess. Adjust your dose to where you're having easy BMs every day. ...Read more

The end of a bowel movement and the stools are soft. I do have some hemorrhoids but they do not seem sore. Concerned?
Possibilities...: Blood in stool is a warning sign. Causes of bleeding may be predictable (e.G rectal trauma, fissure, hemorrhoids with straining), but evaluation is always appropriate. A rule of thumb (but not absolute): black stool means bleeding comes from upper GI tract; grape jelly stool from small bowel; silver stool from biliary tree; burgundy stool from right colon; red blood from left colon to anus. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have not had a bowel movement in 12 days . I am on the floor in pain . I have taken oral laxitives but they have not worked .What can I try ( no er?
Vit C, Mag, enemas: The simplest thing is to try a fleet enema, (sodium bisphosphate) available at any drug store. High doses of vit c and/or magnesium should also help. See http://bit.Ly/1ajdwbo if no results then go to er. But I do urge you to see a doctor for evaluation of why you are so constipated; you might have hypothryroidism, imbalances of intestinal flora etc. Make sure your diet has plenty of fiber and drink lots of water. ...Read more

Fortunately, the trouble will often resolve if the man takes more time with love play so that the woman's vagina relaxes and her natural lubricant flows, and if the couple use one of the newer sex lubricants like eros or liquid silk. But if the pain keeps on happening, you shouldn't feel you have to put up with it. Consult your gyn ...Read more

Maybe not IBS: Occasional incontinence of stool with fecal leakage is common, but loss of bowel control particularly without warning may signal a significant infection, inflammatory problem, maldigestive concern, or neurologic disorder. Sometimes, particularly in youths, the condition is behavioral. Has your evaluation included a check for procto-colitis, HIrschsprung's disease, pelvic floor dysfunction? ...Read more
