For high blood pressure Can i take garlic supplements or do home remedies to regulate my pressure instead of taking meds with bad side affects?
High blood pressure: You can take garlic - if for blood pressure better to use Kyolic aged garlic extract. If you are trying to use natural remedies for high blood pressure some better choices would be magnesium glycinate in higher doses - gradually increase to 1000 mg daily, CoQ10 increase to 300 mg twice daily, nitric oxide stimulators like arginine, and my favorite bonita peptide. "Curcovia": "curcovia" is a trade name for curcuma comosa, an herb in the ginger family. It's related to the more well-known curcuma longa, the tasty spice turmeric. It has at least weak estrogenic activity. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23552522 there's no interaction info w/bp meds -- but as w/the other curcumas, i'd suggest caution with anticoagulants like aspirin. This : This should be fine, but with a few caveats. First. L-arginine is an unproven dietary supplement. It may be helpful, but there is no convincing evidence. And just because it is a natural supplement does not mean it is necessarily safe. If you haven't already, a more effective and natural way to help your blood pressure would be to cut out sodium and increase your intake of fresh foods. Your combination of drugs indicates to me that you have a substantial blood pressure problem. You should discuss these supplements with your physician and your pharmacist to be sure there are no interactions, and always let healthcare professionals know what supplements and over-the-counter medicines you are taking in addition to your prescriptions. Although uncommon, in some cases these ordinary supplements and otc meds can cause negative drug interactions with your important prescriptions. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
