Using dovobet ointment on psoriasis since 12 now 19. occasionally on genital area. What could be the side effects ? Permanent? I have stopped now.

Depends on how used: Avoid any but occasional use in folds such as genital. Likely to cause atrophy [thinning] of skin there. Using large amounts, more than 2 oz per week, might produce enough systemic absorption of steroid to be a problem. Atrophy of skin is not permanent, but is slow to recover. Generally safe. You forgot to indicate the benefit. Why did you stop? Best result is to see a dermatologist. ...Read more

Not very common : It is still fairly safe. I use the medication in my patients all the time. You can possible still have flare from time to time and it may not be related to methotrexate but other causes such as stress, anxiety, high dose steroid, etc. ...Read more
