Bleeding out of anus, when sitting. over a tablespoon of blood i have hemeroids, but theres no blood in stool. just when im sitting or on the toilet.
Hemorrhoids bleed: Blood in the stool is never "normal". However, bright anal blood on the outside of stool is usually from hemorrhoids (swollen anal veins). They are not serious and warm baths with epsom salts and a cream like anusol will help. However, if the bleeding is persistent, do see a doctor for an examination. All the best, peter wilk, md. ...Read more

I went to dr that gave me my colon test 3 yrs ago for fresh blood in stool he was fairly sure it was a internal hemorriod how long can hemorriod bleed?
Bleeding hemorrhoid: Hemorrhoids can bleed as long as they are being irritated/abraded by hard stools or frequent stools or straining to have a bowel movement. Use stool softener (not laxative) &/or increased dietary fiber or fiber supplement with plenty of fluid. Use otc hemorrhoid preps to help shrink & calm inflammation of hemorrhoids. If bleeding persists, see doc again. ...Read more

If necessary go to the nearest emergency room! take this situation very seriously. ...Read more

I have thin stool occasionally and pain in the right lumbar region. Blood in stool sometimes. Went to doctor for bleeding and was told is anal fissure?
Confusing question: An anal fissure is either evident on physical exam or suspected by the bright red blood that coats the stool as it exits. Blood from higher in the intestines has time to break down and begin to darken or gel.Bleeding from the esophagus or stomach would be partially digested by acid and enzymes and be black or coffee ground in appearan I can't put together the issue of lumbar pain and bloody stool. ...Read more

Bleeding in rectal, exam shows blood in stool & hemorrhoids, have loose stool, rare for solids. Can I use miralax (polyethylene glycol) safely to help loosen impacted stool?
Yes you can: Use a dose (17 gm packets) daily, but also recommend you start taking supplemental fiber (like metamucil or equivalent) along with. This will help you be more regular naturally. Once you feel you have "cleaned out" somewhat - stop the MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) but continue the fiber on a daily basis. Also try warm soaks on your hemorrhoids, and topical creams with steroid (hc) may help, too. ...Read more
How can I tell difference between blood in stool and pieces of food? I ate a lot of watermelon yesterday. My next bm was full of red, stringy things?
Probably food: If you want to determine if red stuff in your stool is blood or food, when you use toilet paper to clean yourself, blood will stain the paper red, while food will not stain, but remain whole on the paper. Also, blood will usually make the commode water reddish like food coloring in water, while food in stool will not run like that. You can ask your doctor for a stool guaiac test to be sure. ...Read more

Is there a multivitamin to take to make you hungry ? Or eat more. Haven't been eating due to stress and thinking blood in stool and bad headaches
No: Multivitamins don't do that in the U.S. But, if a person takes the kids' gummy vitamins, he can chew 4-6 of them each day to add up to an adult dose. Because they taste like candy, they are likely to make him want more candy, Gummy Bears, chocolate, or snack foods. This is not a nutritious way to do things, but is likely the only way any multivitamin can make a person want to eat something else ...Read more
