From a medical standpoint, "genetic" refers to the potential heritability of various medical conditions. While some conditions are inevitable (at some point in one's life) as a consequence of simple genetic heritability (eg huntington's disease), a large number of medical conditions (including all behaviorial health disorders) are the expressed final pathway of a ...Read more

Many possibilities: You should get in to your pcp and get a thorough evaluation. One would need to take a good history of symptoms and an appropriate physical examination. I would consider some laboratory work such as checking the thyroid, blood sugar and other chemistries. Are you having nightmares or night terrors? Are you diabetic? Are you taking medications or using drugs? Concerning but needs work-up. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My husband has been sick for 4 days now symptoms are excessively sweating day and night loss of appetite chills with no fever headache and body aches.
Febrile illness: As long as he is staying the same or getting better, you could give it a few more days of watching him at home. If he seems to be getting worse in any way, however, I would take him to his doctor or to an urgent care center. In the meantime, plenty of fluids. You could use Tylenol or ibuprofen for fevers. Be sure to follow the directions on the box. If he worsens, see his doctor ASAP. Good luck. ...Read more

See an ID doctor: There are multiple possible explanations for this and the people who are trained to be clinical detectives are the infectious diseases experts. This sounds as if you are having persistent fevers. You chill when the body's thermostat turns up. This generates heat & you have fever. The body temperature is reduced when you sweat, as one of the mechanisms for losing heat. See an id doctor. ...Read more
Why do I only have chills and night sweat with mild fever? Now i'm on night two and my body is starting to ache.
Flu?: These findings are not specific of anything definitive. You may be developing influenza. Chills, fever, body aches are common. If you are otherwise healthy, i'd give it a few days taking over the counter Ibuprofen and tylenol (acetaminophen) for symptom relief. If it doesn't get better soon, then see your doctor. ...Read more

See your PMD: My suggestion is for you to see your pmd to help find the cause of your problems- instead of going to er frequently. Your symptoms can be caused by different things like infection, connective tissue disorder/autoimmune disorder, as well as malignancy/cancer. Go to see your pmd. She/he would be able to take a careful history, examine you well and refer you to the right doctor and work-up/procedure. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Most often "chills": are associated with fever. They are caused by rapid muscle contraction and relaxation and often predict the coming of a fever. In this setting with a cough...you're ill! Concerning: Those are symptoms that definitely raise concern. Recurrent chills and sweats raise concern on a number of topics.
