I have blurred vision only in the corner of my left eye. Next steps?

I have blurred vision only in the corner of my left eye. Next steps?

Needs evaluation: Loss of vision in one corner is concerning. First cover each eye to ensure it is from one eye and not say, the left corner of both eyes. This needs to be evaluated by an eye doctor with at the very least a dilated eye exam to rule out a retinal problem. Other tests that may need to be done include a peripheral vision test called a visual field test. If constant or worsening, see someone soon! ...Read more

Get seen: Any sudden persistent change in vision needs to be assessed. See or call your primary care doc, eye doc, go to eye care urgent care, or an ER now. When I wake up, I have double/blurred vision in left eye. Do I need an MRI?

Eye exam: First you need a complete eye exam from an eye doctor (ophthalmologist). There are many possible reasons for double and blurry vision which cannot be diagnosed without a thorough exam. An MRI may be useful if the doctor has specific concerns about your brain, optic nerve, or the orbit. But this would be a secondary exam, not the first choice. ...Read more

I had a head injury over 2 years ago causing blurred vision in my left eye. My vsi is 20/200. Can this be corrected?

Possibly: If your decreased vision is due to refractive error or a cataract, it is very possible that your vision can be improved. However, if the visual part of your brain has been damaged, or your optic nerve, or retina, chance of visual recovery after 2 years is relatively low. A dilated eye exam with an ophthalmologist would give you the best answer for visual potential. ...Read more

I slept on my left eye. I think my blanket was in my eye too My eye is irritated and I have blurry vision. My vision is better but still blurred a bit?

Lubricating drops : Or ointment without preservatives will help with comfort until you see your eye doctor to get this checked out! Your cornea is irritated, but the bigger question is why was your eye open during sleep? The eye doc will need to assess floppy eye vs. thyroid (measure the protrusion of the eyeball beyond the orbital side bones), and to help you protect your eye(s) while you sleep. Don't wait! ...Read more

I have a slight cold feeling in my left eye and a slight sore eye..My vision is clear and have no blurred vision I do have an imbalance in left eye?

Sore eye: A sore eye is most commonly caused by dryness or irritation which are helped iwth the use of artificial tear drops. Because the surface of the eye is not smooth because of the dryness, this commonly causes a small change in the vision and account for the feeling of imbalance. Also possible is that one eye needs some glasses and the other does not. ...Read more

I have high blood pressure, but I'm taking medicine to lower it. I keep getting blurred vision in my left eye only. What could be causing it?

Unlikely your BP: Your symptoms (unilateral/one sided) eye symptoms are most likely an eye problem unrelated to the blood pressure problem. See your eye professional for a refraction/eye exam ASAP!

Dx - optic nerve hyperemia. Blurred vision in left eye for more than a year. Possible causes? Can be from use of Zaditor (ketotifen) for allergies?

Ophthalmologist : Make sure you see an ophthalmologist for evaluation. You may have congenital blurring of optic disc, disc drusen, hypoplasia, but with the blurred vision, I'd be worried about something different. A year-long history without worsening is not typical of inflammatory optic neuritis. Compression of nerve by tumor? Zaditor™ is not the cause. See an ophthalmologist. ...Read more

Superficial blood clot in arm. Sudden severe

blurred vision in left eye with dizziness nearly passing out. Connection? Back to ER?

Emergency Room: Whether or not it is related, with any acute sudden change (in this case, your vision in the left eye), you belong in the ER to get it evaluated. You never relayed the cause of the superficial blood clot, nor underlying medical problems, so it is hard to say if it is related; but if the vision suddenly went blurry, get to the ER to get a diagnosis! Don't lose your vision waiting for an online deba ...Read more

Having pain in neck left side, lower left sciatic pain, blurred vision left eye, now numbness and nerve pain left foot.

Having pain in neck left side, lower left sciatic pain, blurred vision left eye, now numbness and nerve pain left foot.

Spine specialist: I'm not sure how the blurred vision fits into a problem with your spine. I would suggest an eval from an ophthalmologist for that.

The cause of "sciatic pain" could very likely also cause the "nerve pain" in the left foot. An EMG test could help to give your doctor some answers about this.

A spine specialist in your area could help to diagnose the cause of the neck pain and the sciatic pain. ...Read more
