Do you believe in Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. If so, how do I get a tubal reversal paid for by my insurance company?

Post tubal syndrome: Yes, many women experience shortening of their menstrual cycle frequency due to an interruption of a blood vessel that traverses under the Fallopian tube from the uterus. More so : Than if no abdominal surgery. Repair may not fix any scar or post surgical discomfort, and could even aggravate. See your OB gyn and sort out the cause of the pain: wound, neuropathy, infection etc. Would not "rush back in" to a reop belly! ...Read more

Can women get a tubal reversal done?

Depends: Depending on the type of tubal ligation was done. Because the tube is readily accessible, the physician will usually cut, tie and burn a large segment. The more damage a tube undergoes, the less chances that it can be repaired or that the repair will work. How much tube is left to repair. The fallopian tube needs a minimal amount of length and structure for it to be a functional tube. ...Read more

Yes: But it is a very important decision. Although people talk about reversing this surgery, the results are variable , so assume that it will be permanent. Is it possible to get a tubal ligation reversal?

Absolutely: The length of time your tubes are tied is a zero factor. Success depends on three factors: 1. Skill of the surgeon, 2. Length of tubal segments remaining, and 3. Age of the patient. In skilled hands, the surgery is safe and the risk of an ectopic is less than 5%. An operative report may help but is not always "accurate". Ivf is also an option but generally costs a lot more. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Do I have to see a specialist to get a tubal ligation ordered?

Yes: There is a minimally invasive option done in your gynecologist's office with a local anesthetic and without an incision. Women walk out of the office about 15 to 30 minutes later and resume normal activity once the anesthesia wears off. For a greater peace of mind you get a test 3 months later to confirm that your tubes are closed. ...Read more
