Depends how long you: Have been coughing, and 6 weeks is a long time to be coughing. You may be experiencing food allergies, if it's always after eating, and not due to gerd, or pnd. You could have a sinusitis that needs to be treated before it gets worse, or you may be reacting to environmental allergens inhaled. It is also much harder to treat relying on strict diet control avoiding all acids, coffee, tea, sodas, etc... As well as not eating or drinking anything for 3 hours prior to laying down. Maybe partly: WHile the burning in the chest could be related to GERD, the other symptoms sound like they could be related to a common cold (viral infection) or seasonal allergies. GERD can cause all the symptoms as well, especially if there is liquid coming all the way up to the throat. OK to try anti-acid meds to see if it helps the burning.
