Persistent dull pain in frontneck area since start of feb. Also productive cough after eating (but not due to acid reflux or postnasal drip). Ideas?
Depends how long you: Have been coughing, and 6 weeks is a long time to be coughing. You may be experiencing food allergies, if it's always after eating, and not due to gerd, or pnd. You could have a sinusitis that needs to be treated before it gets worse, or you may be reacting to environmental allergens inhaled. So, go to your doctor, and have her/him check you out, and get your diagnosis soon. ...Read more

I'm suffering from sore throat due to acid reflux. No pain while swallowing food. Little irritation in right side of the throat while swallowing saliva from last 7 days. Little cough is also there. No fever. Thanx for help?
Lifestyle changes: Excess saliva/mucus can be a symptom related to extra-esophageal reflux disease. This can be a silent symptom of gerd in about 50% of people suffering from reflux (meaning no heartburn). Other symptoms include chronic cough, hoarseness, throat mucus, feeling something sticking in your throat, or difficulty swallowing. Treatment with acid suppressors and lifestyle changes can help. Sinuses? Reflux?: Why do you say it's not reflux? Cough that comes from reflux can be silent without any abdominal symptoms. It is also much harder to treat relying on strict diet control avoiding all acids, coffee, tea, sodas, etc... As well as not eating or drinking anything for 3 hours prior to laying down. In addition to proton pump inhibitor. It also could be chronic sinusitis. Have you had an ENT evaluation? ...Read more
Had cough for a month which is now better but I still have a dry cough after eating. What could it be. Don't smoke and I don't feel acid reflux?
Yes, esp in AM: Yes, a chronic cough is 1 of the signs of acid reflux. Also, post-nasal drip (allergies), asthma, & lung problems could cause similar symptoms. These conditions cd be excluded by a good doctor asking questions & perhaps some basic testing. Without knowing more, it's hard to say which condition is causing the cough. They relax the lower sphincter of your esophagus. You may need a ppi (med); ask doc. ...Read more

I've had burning in chest n cough for 3 days n some hoarseness throat raw n like inside chest is could this be acid reflux?
Maybe partly: WHile the burning in the chest could be related to GERD, the other symptoms sound like they could be related to a common cold (viral infection) or seasonal allergies. GERD can cause all the symptoms as well, especially if there is liquid coming all the way up to the throat. OK to try anti-acid meds to see if it helps the burning.
