Itchy?: At this young age, I would be more suspicious of eczema (atopic dermatitis) which may be linked to food allergies as well as airborne allergens. If these rash itch, then eczema is more likely. If you are using Cetaphil lotion, be sure to use it regularly and apply it within 3 mins after bathing. Talk to your pediatrician. A discussion of eczema can be found elsewhere. ...Read more

See your doctor: This is what is called a "descriptive" path report. In these cases we construct a list of conditions that can produce this type of reaction pattern then try to narrow it down if possible. In these cases a good solid history needs to be taken to identify any possible cause (drug or other). I am afraid this can be a challenging process and sometimes we do not find the actual diagnosis. Good luck. ...Read more

Mild Psoriasis sufferer, chronic pain right forarm & elbow. Blood tests 80 titre ana, positive anticentromere. Psoriatic arthritis or scleroderma?

Occam's Razor: The simplest explanation is most the likely one. Usually Systemic Sclerosis and/or limited Scleroderma is not characterized by arthritis like you describe. The typical biomarker is anti Scl-70 (anti-topoisomerase). Symptoms have to be put into a broader context and be characterized beyond elbow and forearm pain. This one you should see a rheumatologist about. Dermatology would be useful as well. ...Read more

I have non itchy, red bumps on my elbows, knuckles, knees, and thighs. Not allergy or psoriasis. Had a fever last week don't know if it's related. What could it be?

Viral rash: Many viruses can cause a rash in addition to other symptoms such as fever and cough. Many of these rashes are not specific or characteristic enough to identify the virus. The viral rash itself is not usually serious. But it is very important to make sure the rash is not part of a serious infection such a meningococcal infection. Simple hives: Agree. Simple hives can last weeks, months, years. Unfortunately by 3 weeks causes become difficult to know. Often immunologic hives from a virus go for a few weeks. If longer, or if bruises, joint pain, throat swelling, need consult. Check kidney, liver, autoimmune, chronic infection, even for cancer. Need a good sit down w/ allergist, dermatologist to confirm hives and test. ...Read more
