Mammograms at a certain age are also very important for the same reason. Fibroadenoma is beni: Fibroadenoma occurs in your females and is easy to diagnose by clinical exam and mammogram. Most fibroadenomas do not grow and can be left alone. But if it is increasing in size over 6 monthly examinations by the doctor and by your own self examination, then a biopsy and or removal may be the best choice of managing it further. Depends: It really depends on what the lump is and what issues it is causing you. At your age, the most common lump would be a cyst. Cysts can just be aspirated. Breast or lymph: A lump outside of your breast could still be breast tissue, it could also be lymph tissue or alternatively, some kind of tumor in your skin (like a lipoma).
