I have a lump in my arm I was told it was a lipoma what is that and how do I get rid of it. And is it dangerous?

Benign Fatty Tumor: Lipomas are non cancerous growths that may occur anywhere on your body, usually evident as a rubbery lump that can be felt just under the skin. They can be easily removed (often under local anesthesia in an office-setting, depending on it's size and location). Removal is advised if it is enlarging or causing discomfort, although many request removal for aesthetic reasons. ...Read more

Are there any at home remedies I can use to get rid of a large lipoma I have on my arm?

No.: Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of a lipoma is to surgically remove it. Happily, these are often very minor operations that can be performed in an office setting under local anesthesia in less than 30 minutes. Moisture control: ? Hidradenitis? If it is, few helpful tips here: keep the area clean and dry-stuff a terry towel roll in your armpit if you have to. Avoid scented deodorant/ antiperspirant /soap - the additives that smell good can cause irritation. Don't shave - clip if you need to. Hygiene is a must to avoid infection. However, even if you are "super clean" - you will likely need a doctor's help on occasions. ...Read more

A lipoma, collections of fatty tissue under the skin, may occur in multiple areas of skin. If it changes size, or quality or becomes tender, it should be removed, because there may be a cancerous change in some cells.
