I Have A Lot Of Blackheads On My Face
See dermatologist: See dermatologist for evaluation and to discuss treatment options.
I have a lot of blackheads around my nose area. It has a brown colour and it's deep inside my pores. I keep my face clean all the time. Many thanks?
Not dirt: Blackheads are not dirt. Acne is sebum plugs in large oil glands. We call them comedones. When open to air the sebum becomes oxidized, which is a dark color. Often they can be squeezed out, which does not cause scars. The best treatment is a retinoid. Tretinoin [RetinA] and adapalene [Differin] come in different strengths as creams or gels. Often irritating initially, they provide results in 3 mon
Retinoic acid: Acne with a lot of blackheads is best managed at first with a topical retinoic acid preparation. Your physician can add a second rx if required or get you a referral to a dermatologist.
I have quite a few pimples on my face and a lot of blackheads, how do I remove them with a home remedy face mask?
Meds: Many patients do well with over the counter benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid preparations. Some patients require topical or oral antibiotics or retinoids as well. If the over the counter meds alone don't control your acne after a month of daily use, see a doctor for additional treatment options. It is important to be persistent, and some patients 'get worse before they get better'.See 1 more doctor answer
Acne: Not sure what is available to you but start with over the counter acne medication
Shouldn't: Probably has no effect. The best treatment for blackheads is long term use of prescription tretinoin or adapalene. If you can only use over the counter products and cannot go see a doctor, you will benefit from over the counter products with salicylic acid. A procedure called dermasweep has given my patients good results, too.See 1 more doctor answer
Can try a "facial": Because it takes a certain amount of practice to remove comedones from the pores, using the comedone extractor tools, one can try a facial. One can ask friends or relatives about which persons (at salons or dermatologists' clinics) are talented at facials. Diy is ok if one is good at it, but otherwise may cause more scarring or discoloration.See 1 more doctor answer
Sebum: These blackheads are open comedones and the sebum (oil) oxidizes and becomes black. Its important to use a daily face wash with either glycolic or salicylic acid. exfoliation with a retin-a prep is also helpful.
Blackheads: Blackheads and whiteheads represent hair follicles blocked with oil (sebum). Prescription topical retinoids such as Retin-A, tazorac, (tazarotene) differin, are usually effective. See a dermatogist who can remove them with an intrument called a comedone extractorSee 1 more doctor answer
I have blackheads on my face how can I remove them give me some ideas for masks or creams please?
How do I get rid of these blackheads on my face? I have them on my nose and starting to get them on my cheeks.
Acne: Wash face w gentle cleanser 2x/day ; use oil free products. No oily hair or heavy foundations. Exfoliate occasionally. Try not to pop pimples. Avoid touching face (cradling chin in hands). Remove makeup before bed. Shower after strenuous exercise. Consider otc products (salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide). Comedone extractor can be used on blackheads. If > mild acne see dermatology.
Tough question..: Simple question, but not easy to answer. It is easier to prevent acne than treating severe acne because severe/cystic acnes will cause scars which are permanent. Inflammatory acne are often treated with topical benzoy/antibiotic combo or oral antibiotics. Black-heads acne probably better treated with some retinoid derivatives. It is best to consult doc for individualized treatment... Good luck.
Acne: You are still during the period of time in life where acne can flourish significantly. If you have tried over the counter medication and failed it is time for a dermatology consult or even with your pcp if he (she) feels comfortable treating acne. You might need antibiotics in order to treat acne effectively.
