Epidermoid Cyst: What you have described on your scrotum is an epidermoid cyst. These are common and usually remain without symptoms. Thus they don't need treatment. However, you describe an infected cyst with pus. After the pus passes, there will be hardening of the skin which will resolve. These cysts can be removed but if the entire cyst wall isn't taken, they will recur. See your doctor if infection returns. ...Read more
No: Our bodies are quite redundant. In other words, we can get by w/one eye, one ear, one lung, one kidney, one testicle, etc (not that we'd want to do so). So loss of one testicle will not impact testosterone level or even sperm production. Therefore, physical growth won't be affected, nor sex drive, nor fertility. ...Read more

My husband had some benign growth on one testicles. For no reason he wants to remove both testicles. What will be the effect on our health life?
I think: Your husband needs to speak with his doctor and maybe a psychiatrist. I doubt he will find a legitimate surgeon to assist him without a medical indication. ...Read more
No: The main concern regarding an undescended testicle is having an increased chance of testicular cancer during puberty and beyond. It is still extremely rare in itself. There is also the chance for fertility issues but with a normal other testicle this also shouldn't be an issue. We would recommend bringing the testicle down into the scrotum the earlier the better to decrease these possibilities. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
