For the last week i've had pain in my right big toe and surrounding area, like a bunion. My big toe feels cold and numb at times. Any suggestions ?

Yes: Bunions and the deformity associated w/ them( hallux valgus) can press on the second toe and cause deformity ( hammertoes, etc.).
